it hurts to see that, the music that you grew up to. has become to something else, something more disregardful... to portray girls as cheap sex objects, like girls would wana surround you anywhere you go. throwing money in the air like it can help them poor African people. and showing their masculinity through album covers and rhymes. like showing the oiled masculine body to which not only girls are looking, but men, child and even homos. no disrespect to homos but im just tryna exaggerate so that people can understand. and telling the listeners of how they wana kill each other, what guns or protect the territory of which aint theirs to start with.
watch the documentary, HipHop:Beyond Beats & Rhymes. you'll understand if ur a rapper or u you know someone who raps, tell em about this documentary.
HipHop to me is a way of life, a struggle of one's attempt to prove or to do something good, for both self and the community.
and as for me, my path is thru the Dance of HipHop, Bboying.
i prefer to channel my energy thru bboying, rather than to gangbangings or some shits.
yet and still i realise thru the video below, that Bboys are also changing,
is the awareness of HipHop culture are in the minds of the new generation of bboys?
What about the social issues, the mindstate, the awareness, the history, the urge to seek truth about the culture?
has everyone forgotten about why we are here in the 1st place?
i know im in no position to say this all... but can i question?
Knowledge and Understanding is the key. the key to everything. the key to preserving the hipHop Culture.
however with the internet, some fake knowledge may be passed around. but Real knowledge itself, is under our own control. i think that as Bboys, we have a responsibility, realise it or not, to represent the culture for what it is, to keep it real by keeping it right.
watch the video to understand what bboying is really about. it is an interview of Bboy Teknyc, aka The Cypher Sniper representing SkillMethodz. one of the most passionate Bboys i've ever seen...
dont just look at what he's doing, listen to what he says too. :)
on another personal note, Im proud of my juniors. have fun for your debut guys! i know its unreasonable to say it here, but i dunnoe how to say it in front of u guys. teehee.
and one random phrase i thought of while on the way home,
"to me, Women are of meaningful pursuits, rather than disposable pleasures" -Ash.Fresh™
